BiodynamicWine Tasting – 25 May 2011 at 16:00 to 18:00 o'clock

Demeter International,  Troonstraat 194 rue du Trône, 1050 BRUSSELS

 INVITATION

The winery "Im Zwölberich" is located in the Nahe region in the "mild west" of Germany and is a traditional family business since 1711, owned and managed by Hartmut Heintz. Today, they are cultivating about 25 hectares of vines characterized by the variety of quite different soil types. Rich in flavour, their wines reflect the "terroir" thought without compromise: each single bottle is unique and mirrors the soil from which it comes.

Since 1987 they have chosen for biodynamic viticulture which does not use any chemical or synthetic additives and works solely with natural substances, like ground natural minerals, medicinal herbs and specific compost. Using these natural resources "dynamises" the soil and has a similar effect to that known in homeopathy. A selective vintage, a prudent handling of the grapes and a long natural ripening process: all these measures result in highly individual quality wines.

"Zwölberich" wines are a real adventure: differences in the Nahe soil appear in such a manifest way that you have the impression of diving into a regions own microcosm. This tasting is a rare occasion to taste very special wines and in our view a must for those connoisseurs who are looking for wines beyond the scope of "technical wine-making". It is also an opportunity to taste how a German vintner with more than 20 years of experience in biodynamic wine-growing addresses fundamental questions.

This year we are commemorating the 150th birthday of Rudolf Steiner and we are very pleased that Mr. Hartmut Heintz will come to Brussels himself to present his wines. Please let us know till 20th of May, if you will attend this event: demeter.eu@gmail.com
