German wine exporters have not yet completely recovered from the impact of the economic crisis. However, a nine percent drop in overall value - for the first half of 2010 compared with the same period the year before - was caused by a specific market segment called "Landweine". In fact, the value of quality wine exports - which account for some 80 percent of total exports - increased six percent, and posted an eight percent gain in volume.
